Palm Springs CA Real Estate and Homes
Palm Springs, California is an iconic city in the U.S., and was incorporated in 1938. Palm Springs is well known for its amazing weather, mid-century architecture, luxury resorts, and celebrity history. Today not only the rich and famous live here but ordinary folk alike!
Lifestyle
With all the great weather, there are ample outdoor opportunities to be had, such as hiking at Tahquitz Canyon (one of my personal favorites)! Tahquitz Canyon is on the Agua Caliente Band of the Cahuilla Indian reservation, and you can walk to breathtaking 50-foot waterfalls. Downtown Palm Springs features Palm Canyon Drive with excellent outdoor shopping and dining. If you’re into mid-century modern design or all things vintage, there are lovely stores for furniture, clothing, and artwork. Year-round on Thursday nights, there is an open-air street fair that has local artists, food, flowers, entertainers, produce, and more!
Events
Palm Springs is no longer a sleepy resort town! The “Tennis Gardens” in Indian Wells is a short drive from Palm Springs, and it features the BNP Paribas Open. The BNP Paribas Open is an international tennis tournament that people travel from around the world to see. The Desert Classic tournament takes place in La Quinta, and it is one of the stops on the PGA Tour. At the Desert Classic, you will see greats like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. Palm Springs has an international film festival in January, a film noir festival, and an American documentary film festival.
